Thirty Years Late - Thirty Years Late Newsletter Interview

20 Jul 2008 // An interview by Shade
Thanks to Steven for answering the following questions:

What is the best gig/event you have ever performed at, and why?

Valve - Wellington. Crowd was mental, really got into our stuff and weren't shy. Had a great time, was like a big party. People were being lofted towards the ceiling, bottles laid strewn across the floor while their owners chanted "louder." Ugly people became beautiful and all was right with the world... It was fantastic to see such an amazing display of sweaty man love.

What is your favourite NZ venue?

Masonic in Devonport because; wicked staff and many good times, meeting new bands, and trying to hook our drummer up with a hot pash from a man/woman.

What can we expect to see from Thirty Years Late over the next year?

Single(s) on radio. Planning/starting a tour overseas. Some form of national tour. Keen to meet some more really cool people and bands.

What other NZ musicians or bands would you like to see more of, and why?

Lucid 3 - great muso's, fun times. Inverse Order - a really great band we saw a few weeks back, huge sound, huge potential.

If you could, what rumour would you start about Thirty Years Late?

We originally wrote and preformed all of Whitney Huston's music...also our singer is really a ninja.

What advice would you like to give to other aspiring musicians?

Keep slogging it out. Make every show count, even if it is in front of two people (like a few of our weeknight gigs back in the day.)

About Thirty Years Late

We like our rock with a little bit of groove…

Thirty Years Late was born from a desire to play hard rock that makes you want to move. For the last few years it’s been exactly what we’ve achieved.

In the last three years we have released two EPs with our most recent EP (Life Botox) mixed by UK Producer Kenny MacDonald (Texas, Gun), toured the North Island twice and received airplay on Kiwi FM and several local radio stations.

28 Sep 2022 // by Shade
The original songs of singer, pianist, producer and composer Lauren Nottingham have touched down on Earth under the moniker Frau Knotz.
